TV figures dip as broadband, phone services grow



TechLife | 03 Aug 2012 :  UPC has released its second quarter results, showing a continued growth in broadband and triple play customers over the first quarter.

Total subscriptions across TV, phone and broadband services for the second quarter increased by 14% (115,400), to 945,200 when compared to the same quarter a year ago.

Broadband subscrptions alone were up 25% year-on-year to 283,400. Phone subscription were up 69% over the same perdiod to 205,800. Digital TV subscriptions, however, were down to 333,200 compared to 384,000 in Q2 2011.

In May, UPC launched an on demand service carrying movie rentals and TV content from the UK and US and integrating catch-up services from RTE and TV3.
