MLNet rebrands as Airfibre

Name change follows management buyout

TechTrade | 01 Aug 2012 :  Business-to-business Internet and cloud services provider MLNet has rebranded as Airfibre following a management buyout last June.

Airfibre provides private and public sector customers with Web access and cloud computing services, using radio and microwave last mile technologies to deliver uncontended fully symmetrical leased line communications circuts operating at from 1Mb/s to 1Gb/s.

Managing director Martin Smyth said: "The original name was chosen to reflect the strategic partnership that we have with Metronet in the UK, but to be honest, the name is a bit of a mouthful and it doesn't appropriately reflect what we do."

Chairman and CEO John Early said the change of name would help the company to grow its market. "I predict that Airfibre will enjoy exponential growth through core business expansion and the introduction of innovative associated cloud services. Airfibre is a brilliant name change, which reflects the business activities of the company and marks a new impetus."
