Social network's moblie network goes from ‘Lite’ to free

TechLife | 19 May 2010 :
Facebook may have shut down it's mobile-friendly 'Lite' version last April but the social network has come back less than a month later with a replacement in o.facebook.com. A text-only version of the social networking site intended for mobile phone access.

Initially called “Zero”, the 0.facebook.com is a result of collaboration between Facebook and carriers to ensure mobile access without any data charges. Given that browser-equipped mobile phones are expected to outgrow PCs in the near future,

0.facebook.com is initially available through 50 mobile operators in 45 countries.  Users can still access the regular Facebook site from the standard mobile site m.facebook.com but data charges will apply.
