Meteor launches dgital music store

Mobile users given choice of 1.4 million tracks

Internet | 16 Nov 2009 :
Meteor has joined eircom and Nokia in their bids to offer music services with the launch of the Meteor Music Store. Offering access to over 1.4 million tracks from major international artists to home grown talent, Meteor customers will be able to access the Meteor Music Store on their PC by or by following the directions from the Meteor Homepage on their handsets.

All of the major record labels are represented on the Meteor Music Store (Universal Music, Warner Music, EMI, and Sony BMG), as well as some 2,000 smaller independent labels.

Individual tracks will cost €1.50, and can be copied, shared, and played on any MP3 player.

Eircom, 3 and Nokia offer similar services, the latter having been criticsed for a restrictive system only compatible with PCs using Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer.
