Another 9 reveals disaster recovery cloud software
IT service provider Another 9 has announced the release of an ‘out of the box’ disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) back-up and business continuity solution solution. The software provides support in the event of a complete server failover, including operating system, application and data failure.
The release follows Another 9’s announcement of a €400,000 investment in its cloud computing infrastructure.
Clients using the solution have all server information backed up to Another 9’s on-premise appliance and also to its private cloud infrastructure located in an ISO-certified data centre in Ireland.
The solution uses Siris technology, giving it the ability to backup server images in VMware format and replicate them in the cloud, enabling instant on- and off-site virtualisation and backup verification. This allows clients to continue using e-mail, access files and run applications from the cloud until their compromised local system returns to normal.
Another 9 is marketing DRaaS in eight models, from 500Gb to 40Tb and with a pay-as-you-go pricing option. All data is encrypted using AES256 and communication via SSL 128-bit. The service is remotely monitored and managed at the company’s Disaster Recovery Centre in Baldonnel Business Park, where it employs 26 staff.
