Accenture has appointed Alastair Blair as country managing director for Ireland, effective from 1 September 2014.

Blair will take over the role as Mark Ryan retires from Accenture after more than eight years.

Blair, 48, currently serves as managing director of Accenture’s Financial Service’s operating group for the UK and Ireland and works with Accenture’s clients in the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as the Middle East and Europe. Prior to assuming this role in 2010, Blair served as head of Financial Services for Accenture in Ireland.

“We are delighted that Alastair is stepping into this important role and leading our business in Ireland,” Ryan said. “His 27 years of experience with Accenture in multiple leadership roles and his extensive client work across the company, position him well to continue to manage our business in the Irish market.”

“I am honoured to lead Accenture’s operations for Ireland. We have great momentum in the business and I look forward to building on the work that Mark has done over the past eight years. Our focus will remain on accelerating the execution of our business strategy and delivering value to our clients to support Ireland’s economic recovery,” concluded Blair.
