Dublin based online backup provider KeepITsafe, in a deal with CPL, will provide the recruitment firm with full backup services at its Irish and European offices, including Britain, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

CPL network manager Keith O’Connor commented: “With millions of sensitive files on our servers, it was critical to choose the backup system that suited our needs.”

The recruitment specialist had previously used manual tape backup, relying on staff members to take the tapes offsite as a precaution against fire or flooding. However, as the company grew it recognised that this was not a viable solution.

“Online backup was the obvious solution for us as they have the capability to secure our global network from one location” noted O’Connor.

KeepITsafe MD Eoin Blacklock said managed online backup was ideal for firms such as CPL, “where you have multiple branches without IT personnel at hand to conduct backup”. He noted that data was among any enterprises most critical assets.

An example of the necessity for sound backup policies was provided by a recent power cut in Bratislava, Slovakia. Using the KeepITsafe system, damaged files were restored in minutes.

CPL Resources recently announced its expansion into Spain and to Krakow in Poland as part of its growth strategy.
