Irish Research Council, NDRC announce National Research Startup competition
Joint initiative encourages researchers to think business
TechTrade | 20 Sep 2012 :
The Irish Research Council and NDRC (National Digital Research Centre) have begun accepting entries for the National Research Startup Competition.
The competition is designed to encourage researchers to identify the commercial potential of a piece of basic research or intellectual property and turn it into a viable business.
Fifteen shortlisted entries will take part in a six-week programme at NDRC, at the end of which the researchers will present to a commercially focused panel. Those able to determine a scalable business model and are interested in starting a company will then have the option to move forward with NDRC to build their business.
Closing date for applications is 30 November.
