WCDP announces September event

TechTrade | 31 Aug 2012 :  West Cork's budding technology sector will benefit from a new technology event, Offsite, organised by West Cork Development Partnership.

Taking place on 27 September at the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, Offsite 2012 will bring together technology entrepreneurs, starts-ups, programmers and e-workers and industry leaders.

"While West Cork is well known and much loved for amazing food and beautiful scenery, there is a growing and dynamic technology cluster here, that we, at WCDP, are keen to support. One way that we can support the growth of the sector locally is to provide opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing and we have kept these in mind in designing the event", said David Tuohy, Offsite project lead at West Cork Development Partnership.

Speakers wll include entrepreneurs Conor O'Neill (Louder Voice), Donal Cahalane (Next Big Thing), Jerry Kennelly (Tweak.com), John Dennehy (Zartis) and Kevin O'Leary (Qumas).

Practical sessions on latest technology trends and tools, advice and support on growing a tech business and bringing it to new markets as well as funding will all be topics for discussion.

The event will be chaired by Anthony O'Mara of Trend Micro.

Tickets are on sale now at www.offsite.ie with an early bird offer of €40 for bookings before 10 September.
