NovaUCD-based elearning company RendezVu's ExamSpeak product has been
for an ELTons Innovation Award following a worldwide call for nominations.
RendezVu is the only Irish company among the 36 shortlisted in six award categories.
The ELTons, run by the British Council and sponsored by Cambridge ESOL, are the only international awards that recognise and celebrate innovation in English language teaching (ELT). Now in its 10th year, the awards reward educational resources that help English language learners and teachers to achieve their goals.
ExamSpeak is an English practice environment which prepares students for the Cambridge KET (Key English Test) speaking test by simulating the exam in real time. The ExamSpeak exam room is a place where students can go through an exam, introduce themselves, meet other test takers, interact and answer the examiner's questions in real-time.
Paul Groarke, founder of RendezVu said, "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award. To be shortlisted for this international award our ExamSpeak product was evaluated by 10 experts in the English language teaching field. This is great independent validation for us, showing teachers and schools that our ExamSpeak product provides the kind of one-to-one feedback that learners need for their speaking exam."
RendezVu has already won a number of Awards including the NovaUCD 2008 Start-Up Award and the David Manley 2009 Emerging Entrepreneur Award.
The winners of the ELTons 2012 Awards will be announced on 23 May 2012.
