Teachers will be able to generate exercises, resource materials from news articles



TechLife | 17 Apr 2012 :  NDRC spin-out company LingleOnline has entered into a partnership agreement with the British Council. to provide technology for the automatic generation of in-context word lists and vocabulary exercises for English language teachers.

Ian Butler, CEO of LingleOnline, said: "As a world authority in English language teaching and development, the British Council's adoption of the Lingle platform is real endorsement of how we are helping teachers around the world to implement recognised best practice, quickly and easily using authentic materials in their class."

The LingleOnline platform uses current articles from real news publications including The New York Times, The Guardian, China Daily, The Irish Times, The Telegraph, and USA Today.

Butler added: "We're very excited to be recognised by the British Council as an innovative technology provider that can help achieve their goals and remove barriers from implementing best teaching practice."
