Populis ranked number one in Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Populis tops in Deloitte Technology Fast 50

Dublin, Antrim busiest for competition entries

TechTrade | 24 Oct 2011 :  Content demand company Populis took the top spot at this year's Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards, which took place at the Dublin Convention Centre on 21 October.

The company, established in 2004 as GoAdv and rebranded as Populis in October 2010, achieved an aggregate growth rate of 7,982% over the last five years. The average growth rate of the Fast 50 companies named in this year's ranking is 674%.

Last year's winners Software Asset Management Ireland (SAMI) achieved second place with a growth rate of 6,899%. Third place went to H2 Compliance with a growth rate of 2,552%. One of last year's Rising Star companies, Learning Pool Ltd, was the highest ranked company from Northern Ireland, completing the Top 6 with a growth rate of 1,100%.

The Fast 50 programme, now in its 12th year in Ireland, ranks the fastest growing technology companies in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Announcing the winners of the Technology Fast 50 programme, David O'Flanagan, partner with Deloitte, Dublin, said: "Looking at the list of Deloitte Fast 50 winners in 2011 it becomes clear that we are witnessing the second wave of Irish technology companies starting to mature. In 2001, companies such as Conduit, Horizon Technologies and Iona were riding high as Fast 50 winners. Ten years on and there are new kids on the block who mirror their predecessors in having great ideas and understand that to grow they have to go global."

Seven counties across the island of Ireland are represented on this year's listing. Dublin led the pack with 27 companies, followed by Antrim with 12 companies. There are four companies from Limerick on the ranking, three from Cork and two from Kerry. Down and Derry each have one company on this year's ranking.
